1

Lima – Arrival

Superior Class: Allpa Hotel and Suites or similar accommodations

Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet your driver for your transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Discover Lima

You will visit the modern and colonial parts of Lima, known as The City of Kings, starting with the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, before heading to the historic center. Once there, you will visit the impressive Santo Domingo Convent, which will astonish you with its colonial style. Then, you will walk to the Plaza de Armas, where you can take pictures of the amazing colonial architecture that surrounds it. Afterward, you will visit the impressive Convent of Santo Domingo before heading towards Parque del Amor for an overview of the Lima bay area. (B)

Lima - Cusco

Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you will visit the city of Cusco, known as the Imperial City and declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Start at the iconic San Pedro Market where you can explore the colors, flavors, and traditions of modern Cusco. Continue to Koricancha Temple, built by the ancient Inca in honor of the Sun God. Continue ascending to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Afterward, you will visit Qenqo, an archaeological site where the Inca celebrated the sun, moon, and stars. You will finish in the Plaza Armas where you will visit the Cathedral, the most important temple in the city. (B)

Cusco – Machu Micchu

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ollantaytambo station for your Expedition train journey to Aguas Calientes, the village at the foot of the mystical and sacred Machu Picchu. Enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings along the way. Once you arrive you will make the ascent to the ruins by bus. You will take a tour of Machu Picchu, learning the history and mysteries as well as admiring the amazing scenery all around with plenty of photo opportunities. After lunch, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then be transferred by bus to your hotel in Cusco. Overnight in Cusco. (B)

Cusco – Sacred Valley

Spend the day experiencing the authentic lifestyle in the Sacred Valley. Start with a visit to the picturesque Andean village of Chinchero where you will visit the home of a textile artisan to see some of his original works and techniques. Next, visit the Inca ruins of Chinchero and its traditional church. Afterward, you will head to Ollantaytambo, stopping en route for a scenic overlook of the valley and lunch at a local restaurant. Continue Ollantaytambo to see the famous terraced fields, a feat of Incan agricultural ingenuity, before returning to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco. (B,L)

Cusco – Return

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
