Reykjavik - Arrival

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time in Iceland, you may want to consider an optional visit to the Blue Lagoon on your way into Reykjavik. Tonight, enjoy a welcome reception where you will meet your guide and fellow travelers.

Discover Reykjavik

After breakfast, meet your guide at your hotel to begin your walking tour of Reykjavik during this festive season. What better way to get into the spirit of Christmas than a stroll through the decorated city? You’ll gain insight into the Icelandic holiday traditions as well as the history, art, culture and cuisine of the capital city. The tour ends around noon with free time to enjoy the city’s ambience at your leisure. Tonight, you may wish to reserve an optional Christmas dinner at a local restaurant. (B)

Christmas in Reykjavik

Enjoy a very merry Christmas in Reykjavik with a full day at your leisure to celebrate the holiday. Much of the city will be closed for the day, however you can still take in the festive atmosphere of Reykjavik at your own pace. (B)

The Golden Circle & Blue Lagoon

Meet your guide this morning to experience the trio of natural wonders along the Golden Circle route of South Iceland. You’ll see the breathtaking Gullfoss Waterfall, often frozen mid-cascade in the winter, and the active Geysir geothermal area of hot springs. Visit Thingvellir National Park, an important historical site and an area of extreme natural beauty where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet. You can even walk along a canyon that divides the two continents. After your tour, you’ll visit the Blue Lagoon, the world-famous geothermal lake surrounded by lava fields. Evenings at the Lagoon are especially beautiful as the dark skies and the festive lighting illuminate the waters in an enchanting way. (B)
