Reykjavik - Arrival

Superior Tourist Class: Centerhotel Plaza or similar accommodations

Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore the Icelandic capital. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Golden Circle

Depart on your Golden Circle tour passing some must see sights of Iceland. Start by visiting Nesjavellir, a high temperature geothermal area. From there, continue to the Thingvellir National Park where the Icelandic parliament, Althing, was founded in 930 B.C. After that, see the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall then journey toward the geothermal area around the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur. Proceed to Skalholt church, the ancient seat of the Icelandic bishops. Overnight in Reykjavik. (B)

Explore Reykjavik

Superior Tourist Class: Centerhotel Plaza or similar accommodations

Today is your day at leisure to explore the Icelandic capital. Go for a stroll through the city and visit some of the quirky shops and cafes. Visit the iconic Hallgrimskirkja church or enjoy the magnificent view from Perlan, built on the city’s hot water supply tank. You may also wish to take an optional tour to the famous Blue Lagoon where you can relax in a natural geothermal pool in the middle of a la4rge and dramatic lava field. In the evening, consider a Northern Lights hunt by bus or boat! Overnight in Reykjavik. (B)

Travel North

Superior Tourist Class: Icelandair Hotel Akureyri or similar accommodations

Today you leave Reykjavik for the Icelandic north. You will be transferred to the airport to board a short domestic flight to Akureyri (flight not included). Upon arrival in Akuyeri, you can make your own way to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore the Capital of North Iceland. (B)

Whale Watching and the Northern Lights

Superior Tourist Class: Icelandair Hotel Akureyri or similar accommodations

Take the morning to stroll the streets of Akuryeri, a town with many interesting museums, galleries and exhibitions. In the afternoon, you will explore the beautiful landscape and scenery of Eyjafjord, its whales and aquatic birds on a 2 ½ hour whale watching cruise. Upon arrival back to Akuryeri, enjoy some free time before joining your Northern Lights Cruise into Eyjafjord; a similar journey to your whale watching tour, but this time in total darkness. The fjord becomes a mysterious place at night and if the conditions are just right, you will see nature’s most fascinating displays of artistry, the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights! (B)

Explore Akuryeri

Superior Tourist Class: Icelandair Hotel Akureyri or similar accommodations

Enjoy your day at leisure to explore Akuryeri. You may wish to continue explore the city’s sights or head to ski on Mt. Hlidarjall, 5 km above town. If you are looking for a more relaxed time, visit the Akuryeri Swimming Pool, one of the most popular attractions in town and one of Iceland’s finest. All of the pools are heated by natural geothermal water and perfect for a relaxing soak. (B)

Akuryeri - Return

After breakfast, you may depart at your leisure to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
