1
Salta - Arrival
First Class: Ayres de Salta or similar accommodations
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel. You will join an afternoon tour of Salta. Featuring its markedly Hispanic architecture, with one-story houses and narrow sidewalks, Salta, the most splendid of all Creole cities, sits at the foot of 20 de Febrero and San Bernardo Hills. In an extensive tour around the old city, you will discover numerous testimonies going back to the colonial age, and the natural beauties that frame it, including the Cabildo (old town council), the Cathedral, San Francisco Church, San Bernardo Convent, San Bernardo Hill and more. Optional visit to the MAAM Museum.

Salta - Jujuy
First Class: El Manantial del Silencio or similar accommodations
Take the Quebrada del Toro up to Santa Rosa de Tastil and visit this incredible archaeological site. Continue to San Antonio de los Cobres, a village built 12,385 feet above sea level. You will arrive at Salinas Grandes, a dazzling expanse of 2,300 square miles of salt desert. Proceed to Purmamarca, one of the typical towns in the Humahuaca Gorge with its Seven Colors Hill. (B)

Jujuy - Salta
First Class: Ayres de Salta or similar accommodations
Depart this morning for a full-day tour to Quebrada de Humahuaca. Surrounded by high mountain ranges and carved by the Grande River, the magnificent Quebrada de Humahuaca is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Enjoy amazing landscapes blending with ancient Andean culture. You will visit quaint cobble street villages preserving religious traditions, art, and music. You will reach Salta late in the afternoon. (B)

Salta - Cachi
First Class: El Cortijo or similar accommodations
Enjoy an unforgettable journey through picturesque villages, green valleys, and wind-sculpted rock formations as you explore the Calchaqui Valley. Drive along the fertile Lerma Valley, passing through towns like El Carril and Chicoana. Enter the Laurel's Gorge. When you arrive in Maray you will enter the Bishop's Cliff, a road abundant with curves. You will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the Enchanted Valley. At the Mill's Stone you will reach 11,100 feet above sea level, the highest spot on your trip. Soon the Los Cardones National Park is crossed by the straight Tin-Tin (an ancient Inca road). Arrive in Cachi and visit the Archaelogical Museum and the church. (B)

Cachi - Cafayate
First Class: Killa Cafayate or similar accommodations
Continue your trip down route 40 driving along mountainous roads passing through historical towns such as Seclantas, Molinos, Angastaco, San Carlos and Animana. Arrive in Cafayate in the late afternoon. (B)

Cafayate - Salta
First Class: Ayres de Salta or similar accommodations
In the morning, visit some wineries. Make your way back to Salta after lunch, passing through the Shells Gorge and visiting the peculiar rock formations caused by rain and wind, such as the Amphitheatre or the Devil's Throat. (B)

Salta - Return
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your next destination. (B)
