Welcome to Santiago! Upon your arrival at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport, you will be greeted by your private driver and an English-speaking assistant. From there, you will enjoy a comfortable 30 to 40-minute drive to the heart of Santiago. Once you arrive, the rest of the day is yours to relax and explore at your leisure. Whether you choose to unwind at your hotel or take a stroll through the city, you can begin to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Chile’s capital. 

After checking out of your hotel, you'll meet your private driver and English-speaking assistant for a comfortable 30 to 40-minute transfer to the airport, where you'll check in for your flight to Puerto Natales. Upon arrival at Teniente Julio Gallardo Airport, your driver and assistant will greet you and take you on a scenic 20 to 30-minute drive to your hotel in Puerto Natales. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the charming town at your own pace. Whether you choose to unwind or discover the local sights, your time in Puerto Natales is sure to be memorable.

After checking out of your hotel, meet your private driver and English-speaking assistant for a scenic 3-hour drive to your hotel in Punta Arenas, the vibrant city known as the most populated in southern Patagonia. If you arrive early, you’ll have time to explore Punta Arenas at your leisure, with its many museums, shops, and restaurants offering plenty to keep you occupied. By early afternoon, a Quark Expeditions representative will meet you at the official starting point hotel, where you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner and a briefing to help you prepare for embarkation day. Get ready for the adventure ahead as you take the first steps toward your unforgettable expedition. (D) 

Your charter flight from Punta Arenas to Antarctica allows you to cross the famous Drake Passage in just two hours, while your ship makes its way toward King George Island for your arrival. As your plane descends into the South Shetland Islands, you'll get your first breathtaking view of Antarctica’s dramatic landscapes from a truly unique vantage point. Upon landing, you'll head to the shore and then be transferred by Zodiac to your ship, where you’ll embark on your journey to the Antarctic Peninsula! 

Antarctica is one of the most evocative and awe-inspiring places on Earth, a destination so remarkable that it can only be truly appreciated through your own eyes.Your adventure becomes even more thrilling with each land excursion. Your first Zodiac landing will be an unforgettable experience, as you step foot on a beach populated by thousands of penguins—an incredibly intimate way to witness the unique wildlife of Antarctica.Each landing is unique, influenced by weather conditions, but every day brings new sightings and incredible photo opportunities. Soon, you'll easily distinguish between Adélie, gentoo, and chinstrap penguins. One day you might embark on a Zodiac cruise in search of majestic whales and icebergs, and the next, hike to a penguin rookery. From the thunderous sound of a calving glacier to spotting apex predators like leopard seals and orcas in action, each morning will greet you with a sense of wonder and adventure as you explore this pristine wilderness.Your Expedition Team will guide you every step of the way, ensuring your safety while offering insights into the fascinating places you visit. You will continue to explore by Zodiac or on land as you travel north along the western Antarctic Peninsula.  Your Expedition Team will always be on the lookout for species of seabirds, seals and whales that may have eluded you on your journey south. After your week of exploration, you’ll say goodbye to your Expedition Team and disembark at King George Island. Your two-hour flight across the Drake Passage to Punta Arenas, Chile, brings your adventure to an end. After your group transfer to the hotel, you are free to explore and enjoy an evening on your own, in the city or at the hotel to reminisce about the sights and sounds of Antarctica. (B)
