Highlights of Israel

(SAT)- Enjoy a relaxing overnight flight to Tel Aviv.

(SUN)- You are greeted upon arrival and transferred to your hotel.

(MON)- Tour the Negev region. Ascend the Masada fortress overlooking the Roman camps and the Dead Sea and visit the excavations, Herod’s palaces, the synagogue, bathhouse, etc. Overnight in Jerusalem.(B)

(TUE)- Visit Mt Scopus for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Continue to Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls. Continue to Yad Vashem Memorial. Visit the Hadassah medical center’s synagogue, with Marc Chagall stained glass windows. (B)

(WED)- Walk through the Gates to the Old City: the Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall, the Temple area, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Drive to Mt Zion and visit the tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. Continue to Bethlehem* to visit Rachel’s Tomb and Church of the Nativity (visit subject to availability). Return to Jerusalem for overnight.(B)

(THU)- Leave Jerusalem and drive via Jericho* (visit subject to availability), the oldest city in the world, to Beit Shean. Visit the excavations of this preserved Roman City. Proceed to Tiberias, and drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Overnight in Kibbutz hotel. (B)

(FRI)- Visit the former Syrian fortifications and the Druze villages, Via Banias, source of the Jordan River. Proceed to Safed, city of the Kabala. Visit a synagogue and artists’ colony. In Nazareth visit the Christian Holy Sites. Overnight in Kibbutz hotel. (B)

(SAT)- Drive to Acre to see the Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Continue to Haifa for a tour including the Bahai Shrine, Persian Garden and Mt. Carmel. Visit Caesarea’s Roman Theater. Continue on for a short tour of Tel Aviv-Jaffa and overnight.(B)

(SUN)- After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home, or for an extension tour to Jordan. (B)
