Zurich - Arrival - Lucerne

First Class: Cascada Hotel or similar accommodations

You will arrive in Zurich and pick-up your train ticket to Lucerne. The gateway to central Switzerland, seated on Lake Lucerne, is embedded within an impressive mountainous panorama. Upon arrival in Lucerne, make your own way to your hotel. Overnight in Lucerne.

Lucerne - Interlaken

First Class: Hotel Interlaken or similar accommodations

Today’s journey takes you over the Brunigpass into the Bernese Oberland and passing Lake Brienz via the GoldenPass Line. Interlaken lies in the Bernese Oberland on an alluvial plain, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. The vacation destination, which is presided over by the three might mounts of Eiger, Monch and Jungrau, is the starting point for numerous activities. Overnight in Interlaken. (B)

Enjoy your morning at leisure. Today, you can consider joining a tour to the Jungraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe at 3454m. (B)

Interlaken- Brig

First Class: Hotel Ambassador or similar accommodations

Board the train in Interlaken and make your way to Brig. The lovely old town is dotted with stately homes and cozy inns. The lively main street is great for shopping and the Stockalper Palace is one of the most important baroque palaces in Switzerland. Make your own way to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)

Brig- Zermatt

First Class: Hotel Alpenhof or similar accommodations

In the morning, join full day excursion to Zermatt, the famous resort which is home to the mighty Matterhorn. Consider a mountain excursion to the top of Gornergrat for the most impressive views or to the frozen magical world of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Surrounded by amazing scenery with the iconic Matterhorn as a backdrop - Zermatt has it all. (B)

Glacier Express - Brig to Chur

First Class: Romantik Hotel Stern or similar accommodations

Today discover the many highlights along the Glacier Express route. The trip between Brig and Chur is unforgettable. Surrounded by a fantastic mountain panorama, the journey leads eastwards into the Upper Rhone valley which reaches 1366m at Oberwald, passing Andermatt onwards to the Oberlap Pass before winding its way upwards to 2034m (the highest point of the journey). The journey contunies on a decent along the Rhine valley to Chur at 595m (the lowest point of the route). The landscape looks very dramatic in the Rhine gorge between IIanz and Reichenau. The journey ends in Chur, the capital of the canton of Graubunden and the largest town along the route. (B)

Bernina Express- St. Moritz to Poschiavo

First Class: Romantik Hotel Stern or similar accommodations

Today, board a regional train for the journey between Chur to St.Moritz. Highlights along the way include impressive sections through narrow valleys and across the curved Landwasser viaduct. Arrive in St.Moritz and transfer to the Bernina Express. Enjoy the panoramic carriages with great views along the way. Travel passed Pontresina in the Upper Engadine Valley before continuing to the highest peaks of the Canton of Graubunden and the Morteratsch Glacier - where the ascent up the Bernina Pass begins. Lago Bianco will come into sight and at this time of year covered in snow. Soon after reach the highest point of 2253m at Ospizio Bernina before the dramatic decent down via Alp Grum which offers magnificent views of the Palu Glacier. Finishing in the Italian speaking Swiss town of Poschiavo. Return to Chur via St. Moritz by regional train. (B)
