Beach Life

There are a number of beautiful beaches to be found in Broome. Get ready for a relaxing day at the sea and soak up the sun until it gets dark. The best beaches with an amazing feel are Cable, Redell and Town Beaches.

Beagle Bay 'Mother of Pearl' Church

This church is a lovely piece of architecture and it is open to visitors. Inside you can find colourful window designs and an impressive altar. Stop by for a lunch break in the area and hear the church bells chime at noon.

Boat Wrecks

For everyone interested in war relics, in extremely low tides you can see the Dutch Flying Boat wrecks in Roebuck Bay. These airplanes were bombed by the Japanese in 1942. Start your walk across the mudflats from Town Beach about an hour before low tide and head southeast. The walk should take you about 30 minutes. Make sure to wear footwear to protect your feet from sharp shells and other sea creatures.

Broome Bird Observatory

View some 310 species of migratory water birds on the shores of Roebuck Bay, considered to be one of the top sites in Australia. The 310 species include 50 species of shore birds.

Broome Historical Museum

Uncover the fascinating history of this region at the Broome Historical Museum. Continue to Bedford Park, on Hamersley Street, to see the Australian and Allied War Memorials, Dampier’s Chest and other plaques regarding Broome.

Camel Train on the Beach

Riding in a caravan along the beach at sunset is probably the most iconic experiences you can get in Broome. There are several companies operating the tours many times a day, so you can meet these magnificent animals and get a lift from them whenever it's convenient for you.
