Fraser Coast, with its sub-tropical climate, can be enjoyed all year round. In summer, temperatures reach a maximum average of 30°C, offering extremely hot days with cooling sea breezes. Winter, the driest season of the year, has a maximum average of 22°C. The coldest month is July with a maximum average of about 15°C and the warmest one is January with 30°C.

Public Transport

Hervey Bay has a good local bus service that circulates town from the main bus station at the Bay Central shopping centre on Boat Harbour Drive. Buses also go to the surrounding towns. It is worth checking, though, whether your accommodation has a pick-up service, which many places do have. If you fancy an emission-free means of getting around, you can rent a bicycle from Hervey Bay Bike Hire (www.herveybaybikehire.com.au).
