Shops are generally open from around 9am and close during lunch from 1pm to 3:30pm, and then reopen until 7pm or 8pm every day. Larger shops are normally open continuously during the day. In the summer months shops are often open later, especially around the beach side areas.

Arch of Augustus

Arch of Augustus is a landmark monument built in 27 BC in honour of Ceasar Augustus. This arch served to mark the end of the via Flaminia, linking the cities of Romagna to Rome, and marked the beginning of the via Emilia, a road leading northwest to Piacenza. The Arch of Augustus is the oldest surviving Roman arch and has a single gate that is nearly 10 metres high.

Aviation Museum

The Aviation Museum, Museo Dell’Aviazione, is located outside Rimini and has around 40 planes, including a MiG-23, Phantom and Lockheed F-104. Some of the planes on display are from conflicts in Korea, India-Pakistan, Vietnam, Iran-Iraq, Gulf, Afghanistan and Bosnia. The best time to visit Rimini is during the summertime, as the city is famous throughout Italy for its beach resorts and vibrant nightlife. The climate is warm in spring and early autumn, and very hot during the months of June, July and August, which makes it perfect for a beach vacation. Also, the major events and festivals are held during the summer, like the famous Pink Night, which usually takes place during the first week of July. Rimini, however, has more to offer, and if you just want to visit the city and enjoy its museums and historical places, summer probably isn't a good idea, as the city gets very crowded and the prices rise considerably during the high season. In September and October the weather is still warm, but the city is quieter, and much more enjoyable.
