Enjoy a half-day city tour of Arequipa. Some of the old buildings were made out of white volcanic material, which has given Arequipa the name the 'white city'. The tour continues with a visit to the extraordinary Santa Catalina Convent. Finally, you will head to the Yanahuara Viewpoint for a magnificent view of the Misti Volcano and the city. (B)

Arequipa - Colca

Depart Arequipa and head towards the valley. The Vicuna National Reserve is a good place for spotting Andean birds. The awesome volcanoes offer panoramic views as you enter the Colca Valley. Arrive at Chivay, Colca’s most important town where we will make a short stop to explore the local market before reaching your hotel for overnight. (B,L,D)

Colca Canyon - Arequipa

First Class: Casa Andina Select Arequipa or similar accommodations

Take an early morning drive to an observation point (3,937 ft.), located between Maca and Cabanaconde, one of the deepest parts of the canyon. It’s here that the condor can be seen rising and circling the morning thermals. On the way back to Arequipa, you will stop at some of the picturesque towns to visit their colonial churches. (B,L)
